Latest Updates from Our Project:

The End of the Campaign 🎉

We've made it!

Between traveling to Germany, working at three conventions, and losing an iPad, we've successfully funded the campaign. Thank you to each and every single one of you for your support and enthusiasm in this project.

I was an absolute bundle of nerves when it came to launching this project. I haven't ever done a campaign where the critters and creatures were entirely original with lore. And it seems that I've created a world much bigger than I intended as I do have future projects lined up for the Calamity. Such as extending the patches to accommodate each Calamity and more prints and perhaps omamori charms down the like as well! I really wish I had more time to design more prints, but it takes up so much time. I don't want to give away too much and ruin the fun for you guys, so I'll continue releasing teasers overtime.

Anyway, now that the campaign is over, a lot of you guys might be wondering:

What's next?

Right now, we're in the "waiting" period. It takes about 2 weeks for Backerkit to wrap up things on their end. Once the 14 days are up, I'll be releasing the surveys. They're already partially completed, but I'll have to get it approved by Backerkit, and then I'll send it over to you guys. It'll ask you what designs you want, how many of each designs, and if you want anymore add-ons to package with your pre-existing order!

For those who wanted to pledge and forgot - worry not for I'll have a pre-order shop open later today or tomorrow.

That's it for now!

Here's a complication of some of the Calamity in sketch form:

Once again, thank you to each and every single one of you guys - from the bottom of my heart.

I can't wait to see these designs come to life!!

Oh no, there's more: Sifter of Dredge and Iron-On Patches
9 months ago – Thu, Jun 19, 2025 at 06:57:48 AM

In our last update, I mentioned Dissonance would be the last of the Calamity I would design - however, while I was going through a drawing file, I happened across a sketched piece that ended up being forgotten until yesterday.

For funsies, here is the step by step process of creating Dredge:

I don't remember what my thought was in the initial sketch. I was partly distracted in Germany, while trying to generate ideas to work with. I didn't pursue it any further at the time since I couldn't develop any ideas or inspiration beyond what I had sketched until I discovered him again. From the first sketch, which resembled more of a moray eel, I changed him to look more in tune with a snake: the horned viper was the inspiration for this piece.

I think the serpent concept finally resonated with me because I was watching youtube shorts of burrowing snakes and thought they were the cutest things - so Dredge became his name.

Why?

Disciple of Dirge, Dredge coils through the fading light of dying souls, unseen and unspoken. He cuts not, but loosens binding threads; where sorrow festers and memory binds like thorns, he slips through the mind like mist through cracks, unweaving the burdens too heavy to carry beyond the veil. Regret, shame, fear—these he lifts, strand by strand, leaving only silence, only peace.

Most of the Calamity work independently of each other. They're often seen on their own, as they work best alone. However, Dirge and Dredge had teamed up over the course of countless years, working in tandem. This also gives reason to why I gave Dredge a pair of horns, so he could resemble more like Dirge! It's like their siblings, but Dredge is so much smaller than his counterpart.

As my update title also promises:

Iron On Patches - something a few of you guys had asked about and I thought what I ended up designing was a pretty cool concept:

To further go into detail with the patches: they will be best adhered onto apparel such as shirts, jeans, and hats. They'll be woven patches, instead of the traditional embroidered, to give a smoother and more detailed finish. They'll also have a locked edge, which means the red border will wrap around the edge to help maintain the integrity of the piece. It also just gives it a more polished look, too.

The Clamor of Dissonance
9 months ago – Tue, Jun 17, 2025 at 09:50:29 AM

Hello, hello -

We have just 4 more days to go until the campaign comes to a close.
A quick thank you to everyone who has pledged, followed, and shared the campaign. It wouldn't have been successful if it wasn't for you guys.

As you can tell from the title, we have one final design reveal for this Yakudoshi campaign: The Clamor of Dissonance-

Dissonance dwells where no light touches-behind crumbling stone, between roots, and within forgotten halls where silence lingers. A sentry born of stillness and echo: he guards not with blade, but through the sense of every shift in sound. He protects the unseen and the unheard-the breath before a cry, the step before danger, the voice trembling with truth. When balance falters or secrets stir, it is he who hears and answers from the dark.

Like Discord, you can add Dissonance to your pledge via the ❝Extra Enamel Pin❠ add-on.

Aside from this final design, we have just one more merch to reveal. I'm currently working on it, and will hopefully share with you guys tomorrow or the day after for the final push before the campaign wraps up.

New Add-On: Poster Print!
9 months ago – Thu, Jun 12, 2025 at 02:19:56 PM

Hello from the land of the Americas,

I want to go back to Germany, though! Not quite ready to be back home, but alas, work must continue.
That being said, here is the official post for Discord and its lore:

Its name is more than legend. It is invocation. A ward against submission. A whisper of rebellion when the weight of tradition grows too heavy. Those who speak its name aloud in unjust halls may find the courage to stand. Those who etch its sigils into hidden corners might find cracks forming in once-unbreakable walls.

Once, again, thank you to Cthulhu for the the needed inspirational spark.

Sticker Set has been added on to the pledge levels and add-on sections.

Please keep in mind that this will be available to only the original releases. Any other stickers will be made available via ❝Extra Vinyl Stickers❠ add-on listing.

New Merch/Add-On Alert!
I wanted to add more designs, but with the loss of my iPad (RIP :'( ), I'm unable to do much until I make a purchase for a new machine. A big thanks to my friend who let me borrow his iPad while I was in Germany so I was able to get some sketches and brainstorming finished.

The Instigator of Discord
9 months ago – Sun, Jun 08, 2025 at 01:05:17 AM

Hello there -

It's been a rather quiet few days. Being on the other side of the world and spending most of my days wandering and working takes a lot out of me.

Anyway, we've had the opportunity to work on a few designs here and there. Instead of keeping you in limbo, I have an informal reveal of our 13th Calamity:

The Instigator of Discord

I'll leave Discord's lore a mystery until I return home and will be able to make a nice banner ❤️
